We guide you step by step to booking your adventure directly with tour operators.

STEP 3 – Book Your Flights

Air travel is a big expense when tripping to Africa, so take a few weeks (or months) to shop around and watch for your best price. Consider seasonal sales if it fits into your plans.

Once you’ve booked flights, make sure they match what you booked online. If not, no worries. Zara Tours is flexible! Simply go into your on-line quote and make adjustments. Now you’re ready to obtain your Visas.

Flights to Tanzania arrive at Kilimanjaro Airport (JRO), located between Arusha and Moshi. Flights are limited and, for Americans, typically originate from Amsterdam or Ethiopia, landing in the afternoon and late evening. Zara will have your information on hand, so you will be met by representatives to welcome you and drive you to the Springlands Hotel for your first evening.

Springlands is the corporate headquarters of Zara Tours and is located in Moshi, Tanzania, near the base of Mount Kilimanjaro and a half day drive from the major safari lands to the west.

Typically, returning flights from JRO make a stop in Tanzania’s capital, Dar es Salaam, on the east coast, before heading back to Europe and American. If you desire a visit to Zanzibar, consider a return flight back just to Dar es Salaam, instead of Kilimanjaro.

Airport Codes: AMS – Amsterdam    ADD – Ethiopia    JRO – Kilimanjaro (aka KIA)   DAR – Dar es Salaam

Shuttle service is available and can be selected using the reservation system and selecting add-on’s using the on-line shopping cart.
